Tons has happened this week. See for yourselves.
Demo Day 1 – August 28:
They knocked out the beautiful decorative cinder block skirt
ADA compliant ramp
A secret door!
Bye bye, pretty blue wood panel feature
Exposed plaster wall
Termites?
Day one dumpster load
Demo Day 2 – August 29:
Because the three existing toilets weren’t enough
Another full dumpster
Secret fireplace that doesn’t look half bad
Oh, hello attic
Demo Day 3 – August 30:
Should we keep that light?
Another secret door! I love this house!
“Way to look like a man” – Emily Kiser-Yellick
Demo Day 4 – August 31:
One fireplace down
You might be able to see some of the charred wood
Another view of the missing fireplace. And yes, the two-by-four is currently helping to hold up one of the ceiling beams.
This is what’s left of the fireplace
Where the chimney used to go up through the ceiling
Demo Day 5 – September 1:
Other than cleaning up a bit more and clearing out more of the fireplace, not much destruction happened today, largely because they’re at a point where they need to start putting in some temporary walls to support the ceiling and some better support for the floor so the whole thing doesn’t cave in. The plan is to start working on that tomorrow.
