This week, a little more work was done with tiles and plumbing in the bathrooms.

Fireplace framing and drywall

We had a bunch of leftover hard wood. We used some on the ceiling beams and set a bundle aside for the back of the island and decided to drive the rest back out to Whole Log Lumber in Zirconia, NC. Luckily I own a large cargo vehicle capable of carrying over $1000 worth of lumber. So we loaded up the Prius and headed out to spend a weekend in the mountains after returning the lumber. While we were hanging out waiting for our return to be processed, we explored their facility and left with a few ideas for the next renovation.

The reclaimed wood floors were not a must have item in our renovation, but their a choice I am so glad we made.

Did you see that herringbone tile?!

And completely off topic, but I highly recommend checking out downtown Hendersonville, NC. It is super cute, full of antique shops, kitch shops, bakeries, at least one cidery, and one place offering wine tastings.

    1. I’d love to blame autocomplete, but that’s just a symptom of writing while overly tired.
